Question #1: What makes you a redeemer?
What makes me a redeemer is that I have my eyes on my goals and I avoid any and all nay-sayers. I don’t let the fact that I did not finish college (even with a measly 12-credits to go) or have a child hinder my ability to work to provide for my family.
Question #2: how have you balanced out being a mom and still pursuing your goals?
I learned to incorporate my daughter in as many activities as possible instead of handing her off to a sitter. She is my road dog and I learned she will want to be anywhere I am as long as I am stocked with sippy cups and snacks and her best stuffed animal friend, Curious George. She even comes with me to cheer me on while I coach soccer.
Question#3: What advice can you give to those who are aspiring to want to have a career and/or passion such as your that will be able to help them out?
Anybody who has career goals in the publishing industry or any other industry- map out your goals. Once you know where you want to go, set small goals to help you get there. Every day, every week, every month you should be making strides to progress forward. Find mentors who are doing what you’re doing but are even better at it. Last but not least, my best advice is to cut out people who don’t support you or your vision. The negative energy is toxic for mental health and your family’s happiness.
